The Project
D&L Williamson Electrical is a family owned business with over 25 years’ experience in the building industry. Based in south east Queensland, D&L provide a range of electrical services, including commercial projects, renovations, security installations and switchboard upgrades.
Padstow Gardens is a new residential development in Eight Mile Plains, south of Brisbane. Consisting of 18 townhouses, the complex is due for completion by July 2017. D&L were contracted to complete electrical works for Padstow Gardens.
D&L required a main switchboard with the capacity to house CT metering and private metering for half of the townhouses. A second switchboard was required for all remaining tenancies in a different area of the complex. The main switchboard was to be installed outdoors, and therefore IP66 rating was specified for total protection against the ingress of dust and water.
B&R provided an Infinity 3G modular switchboard for this project. The board was supplied through CNW Electrical Wholesale and Energy Solutions located in Geebung. Infinity 3G is a modular solution for commercial and residential applications up to 630 Amps. As the current ratings at Padstow Gardens will not exceed 125 Amps, it fits well within the scope of the Infinity 3G range. B&R and D&L selected the Primo range of Infinity 3G as it is IP66 rated and suited the needs of this project.
B&R designed and manufactured the switchboard and assembled the metalware at their factory and value add facility south of Brisbane. B&R then handed the switchboard over to D&L to wire and complete the installation on site. This kept the lead time of the project to a minimum, and ensured that D&L could offer their customer a time effective solution.
The first switchboard has been delivered to Padstow Gardens, and D&L Williamson are currently completing its installation.
D&L and B&R have worked closely together in the past on projects including Aspect on Archer in Toowong, and Southpoint, a new apartment development in Moorooka. With external time constraints to be met, D&L value the quick turn around with any changes or additions needed.

B&R and D&L look forward to working together in the future, including on a new development at Albany Creek with similar requirements to Padstow Gardens.
