Future Tradies Visit B&R
Recently we had the pleasure of hosting a group of Year 10 students from the Ipswich Campus of the Australian Industry Trade College (AITC) for a tour and talk at the B&R Head Office.
AITC is a senior school (Years 10-12) for students wanting a work-ready education. Students leave AITC with their high school certificate as well as a trade qualification of their choice. To assist students in choosing their vocation, a number of industry visits are undertaken by the school to a range of different businesses.
The students who visited B&R were given a safety induction, before touring the facilities to see just what happens in both the office and manufacturing floor of an enclosure and electrical integration business like B&R Enclosures.
It provided an opportunity for B&R to showcase the types of positions that are available as apprenticeships and how people start at the ground level and work their way up through the company. Throughout the organisation B&R has numerous people who started their careers on the shop floor and have progressed to varied roles in both the manufacturing department or office-based positions.
